Technomusicvideos/Techno music videos Info:
techno music/technomusic is a form of electronic dance music that became prominent in Detroit, Michigan during the mid-1980s with influences from Chicago House, electro, New Wave, Funk and futuristic fiction themes that were prevalent and relative to modern culture during the end of the Cold War in industrial America at that time. The creation of techno music/technomusic is largely credited to D.J. Ben Russell after first appearing on the Detroit local radio. Though personally not ever continuing his career many bands picked up the beat and caused techno music/technomusic to be what it is today. Following the initial success of Detroit Techno as a musical culture — at the very least on a regional level — an expanded and related subset of genres in the 1990s emerged globally.
The term "techno" is derived from "technology". Music journalists and fans of the genre are generally selective in their use of the term, careful not to conflate it with related but distinct genres (i.e. house, trance, hardcore). At the same time, techno music/technomusic is often confused with general terms such as electronic music and dance music, particularly in the Americas and Australia.
Technomusicvideos/Techno music videos are short films or videos that accompanies a complete piece of music, most commonly a song. Modern Technomusicvideos/Techno music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. Although the origins of Technomusicvideos/Techno music videos go back much further, they came into their own in the 1980s, when MTV (Music Television)'s format was based around them.
Music videos / musicvideos are often called promo videos or simply promos, due to the fact that they are usually promotional devices. Sometimes, Technomusicvideos/Techno music videos are termed short-form music videos to distinguish them from full length movies pertaining to music. In the 1980s, the term "rock video" was often used to describe this form of entertainment, although the term has fallen into disuse.
Music videos / musicvideos can accommodate all styles of filmmaking, including animation, live action films, documentaries, and non-narrative, abstract film.
